She has been breaking a smile since 4 1/2 wks but we struggle

to get it on camera.  Every time we try she just stares at camera

in wonder...this is the best so far as I snuck up from behind.

This is quite the picture of Tyler - it's a great snapshot of 

Ty's imagination.  He is underwater trying to catch

the bad guys.  Some day he'll ban the existence of this picture.

Jalen celebrates 100 days at school and make a "fingerprint" 

valentines card.  Tyler makes hand print valentines and loves

the mess.  Lauren & Derk share their first dance together.

And if any of your are wondering why all the men are topless

well that is just the way we do things in the evening at our house.

2.12.12 - Sledding While We Can

This winter has been so mild, we've gotten so little snow.  Our

opportunities to go sledding have been few and far between.

We finely found a day and a lot of 1st happen:

Jalen snowboarded down a hill for the first time.

Tyler road solo down the hill on a sled for the first time.

Lauren (although she doesn't know it) rode down the hill 

with Derk in her car seat.  I wasn't really a fan of her riding

 down in a sled but Derk convinced me he would go slow and 

we had to get her down the hill somehow.

2.11.12 - When Will the Newness Wear Off?

 

I continue to be amazed by the love these boys show their 

sister.  I thought the newness would have worn off by now.

They fight over her, who she is looking at, who gets to hold

her...this little girl is SOOOO very loved.  

2.10.12 - Where's All The Action?

 

I'm surprised she can hold her head up like this but then other

times she has such weak neck control.  

2.9.12 - TOTAL Miss

 

This would be the outcome of Ty going potty by himself.

2.8.12 - Definitely a Coach's Son

 

Derk was so proud when he saw Jalen had set up a football 

drill...only a coach's son would do this at the age of 5.

2.7.12 - Keep'n Busy Continued

 

Jalen loves "craft time".  I'm always looking for craft ideas to

keep his mind busy.  This time we found a $1 project 

at Michael's.  For just a $1 you get wood pieces, glue, paint

and directions to put together a race car.  

It kept him busy for a good two hours.

2.6.12 - Keep Her Moving

As long as you keep changing her view of the

world she's a happy camper.

2.5.12 - Superbowl Sunday

It's only appropriate that the boys wear their jerseys.

2.4.12 - Seriously

Seriously!  This dog is so jealous of Lauren.  Anytime I 

talk to Lauren she finds her way over, gets in my 

face, nudges my hands saying "what about me mom?".

She is like a 4th child...I feel so needed.

2.3.12 - Fun Flying

 

Feb 7 became an important day when Jalen start school. 

Kids who have summer birthdays celebrate their 1/2 

birthdays.  Jalen made candy airplanes for his birthday

treats.  Very appropriate because anyone who knows Jalen

knows how much he LOVES candy.  We then made tags

that said "It's been fun flying with you in pre-k".

2.2.12 - Compromise

I have a love / hate for scrapbooking.  

I love the finished product and the creative outlet.  

I hate that it hangs over my head and I'm always behind.  

SO, I compromised and decided to maintain this picture 

blog and keep a scrapbook for child.  

 Now, that may seem like a big commitment but 

the scrapbook will only have a two page spread for each 

year of there life.  Now I just need to catch the boys books 

up and I think I can live up to those expectations for myself.

2.1.12 - Someone LOVES To Be Held

 

No matter how deep of a sleep she is in, she

knows if you set her down.  Ok, maybe she

is a little spoiled.
